About Us

Aurora Metro is an independent publisher and an arts based charity situated in an old stable building in Twickenham, Middlesex, England.

   Season 2009 sees us celebrating 20 years and we have published over 100 authors including Germaine Greer, Benjamin Zephaniah, Meera Syal and Carole Hayman. We also develop and publish new authors with books by James Spence
and Pat Swindells coming out in 2009.
   Foreign authors are also important to us with authors from over 20 countries represented in our list mostly translated into English for the first time.
   Theatre is another passion - with almost 100 playtexts published and around 20 play anthologies to date.
      In recognition of the company's work, our titles have been awarded: The Raymond Williams Prize, The Pandora Award and the Gourmand World Cookbook Special Jury Prize for Peace and Best Innovative Foodbook 2004 and many others.

The company founder and director is Cheryl Robson, playwright, producer and editor. She works with a small staff and volunteers to discover unique and powerful works that demand to be published.
   She also manages the arts and education projects which the company is involved with in schools, colleges and the community.
