On 16 February 2016, as part of the London School of Economics Literary Festival, leading arts broadcaster, critic and Cultural Commentator of the Year, Mark Lawson, and myself took part in a lively and informative ‘in conversation’ before a packed audience. It was an interview concerning my play Inigo about Ignatius of Loyola in particular and the arts and spirituality in general.
At the book signing afterwards I was impressed at how many people from different faiths and none were there. And so many different countries: a Syrian, a Portuguese, other people from the Middle East, Milan, Madrid, and the States.
Such a good atmosphere and so many inspirational thoughts from so many different cultural perspectives about the universal, liberating, spiritual power of the arts.
The event, entitled ‘Faithful Visions’ was part of the LSE Faith Centre Literary Festival fringe event programme.
