Join us at our new bookstore’s Literary Lounge in Richmond to discuss great fiction and non-fiction books, both old and new.

 

Held on Wednesdays at the end of each month, you can drop in for good conversation, light refreshments and a friendly atmosphere.

 

Cost: £5.00

 

Led by bookshop owner, writer and publisher, Cheryl Robson and Bushra Dunne, emerging writer and bookseller. We currently have vacancies for new members.

 

The cost of the ticket is refundable against a copy of any book in the store. 20% off all books for book club members.

About:

Cheryl Robson is best-known for her successful campaign to erect the new bronze statue of Virginia Woolf in Richmond. She is the publisher at award-winning indie publisher, Aurora Metro & Supernova Books and has published over 300 writers, with work translated from over 20 languages (www.aurorametro.com). She is also an award-winning writer and filmmaker and the owner of a new bookshop offering diverse, contemporary fiction in Richmond (www.cherylrobson.net). She was a finalist in 2022 for the itv National Diversity Entrepeneur award.

Bushra Mustafa-Dunne is an experienced bookseller at Books on the Rise in Richmond (www.booksontherise.com), and an emerging writer. She studied Comparative Literature with Arabic at UCL and is continuing her studies at postgraduate level. She is interested in contemporary fiction from the margins, literature in translation, climate fiction, postcolonial and decolonial narratives, women’s memoir, and new writing from the Arab world. Some of her favourite writers are Deborah Levy, Clarice Lispector, Haifa Zangana, and Amitav Ghosh. Her writing has been published in A Kaleidoscope of Stories: Muslim Voices in Contemporary Poetry, and Alchemiya Journal, and is primarily concerned with diaspora, spirituality, ecology, and their intersections.
