Join Nikki Dudley for the launch of her psychological thriller, Volta, the recent Winner of the Virginia Prize for Fiction. There will be a reading from the novel, a raffle and an exclusive Q&A with crime advisor, Graham Bartlett.

Nikki and Graham will discuss novel research and how to craft a believable crime novel, as well as how Volta changed between winning the prize and going to print. Come along and celebrate with us and pick up useful tips for crafting your novel!

ABOUT NIKKI DUDLEY:

Volta is Nikki’s second novel. Her first novel, Ellipsis, is also a psychological thriller and was published in 2009. Nikki is managing editor of streetcake magazine and also runs the streetcake writing prize and MumWrite. She has a poetry chapbook and collection with Knives Forks and Spoons. ABOUT GRAHAM BARTLETT:

Graham Bartlett was a UK police officer in Sussex for thirty years. He mainly policed the city of Brighton and Hove, rising to become its police commander. Since retiring, he has become a police procedural and crime advisor helping scores of authors and TV writers (including Peter James Mark Billingham Elly Griffiths and Dorothy Koomson) achieve authenticity alongside their drama. He adopts an ethos of ‘creativity with credibility.’ Graham runs a series of hugely popular online courses and workshops under the banner of ‘Crime Writing: Making it Real. He is also a best-selling crime writer, with two non-fiction books – Death Comes Knocking and Babes in the Wood – to his name and a crime novel in the pipeline.
