We’re thrilled that our documentary Rock n Roll Island is being shown at the Glendale International Film Festival in California on 3 October, 5.30pm at the Pacific Theatres at the Americana.  It was also accepted at the Covellite International Film Festival in Montana, 16 – 18 September.
Directed by Cheryl Robson and Helen Walker, Rock n Roll Island captures the extraordinary history of Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, which in the early 1960s became the focal point of English R & B and Rock ‘n’ Roll.
The film features original archive footage (including The Rolling Stones), photos and narration by former Eel Pie resident Nigel Planer, and interviews with Rod Stewart, Steve Hackett, Mick Avory, Top Topham, Phil May, Paul Stewart, Don Craine, Keith Grant, Derek Griffiths, Geoff Cole, Bob Dwyer, Blaine Harris and several Eel Pie Island fans.
Can’t make it to Montana or California? Snap up a copy of the book we published on the music scene at Eel Pie Island The British Beat Explosion: Rock n Roll Island.
