Born in Nigeria to parents of British and Polish origins, Christine Kowal Post was
inspired by the African woodcarvers she saw as a child. On returning to the UK she
studied Fine Art and Italian at University College of Wales, Aberystwyth (1970-74)
and Accademia delle Belle Arti, Florence (1972–73). Kowal Post had her first studio in
Liverpool and has also worked in Treuddyn, North Wales and the Netherlands. Since
1997, she has been living and working in East Sussex. In 2005, Kowal Post was elected
to the Royal Cambrian Academy and in 2014 elected to Royal Society of Sculptors.
