Cornelia Parker (1956–) is an English artist, best known
for her bold sculptures and installation art. She was born
in Cheshire to a German mother who was a nurse in the
Luftwaffe during World War II. Her British grandfather
fought in the Battle of the Somme in World War. I
Parker first studied at Gloucester College of Art in
1974, earned a Bachelor’s degree at Wolverhampton
Polytechnic, and then went on to study for a Master’s
degree at Reading University, graduating in 1982.
