Luke Hereford is a queer theatre maker, based in Cardiff, who trained at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. As Director and Assistant/Associate Director, projects include Queerway (Leeway Productions/WMC), Vincent River (Welsh Premier, No Boundaries), Where Do Little Birds Go?

Initially training as a musical theatre performer, he tell stories through an unapologetically Queer lens, often utilizing a celebratory, effervescent aesthetic to engage audiences, led by movement and music and almost always inspired by Queer culture.

Since he started making work in 2016, he have had a number of wonderful opportunities with the likes of Sherman Theatre, The JMK Trust, National Theatre Wales, The Carne Trust and Lincoln Center Theater.

His solo autobiographical cabaret play, GRANDMOTHER'S CLOSET recently completed a critically acclaimed run at Summerhall for Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2022, and a sold out run at Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff. This was my first credit as a playwright, and marked a return to performing.
