May Ziadeh (1886-1941) was a Lebanese-Palestinian poet, essayist, translator, intellectual, and feminist who passionately advocated for the emancipation and education of Arab women who helped to break ground for female Arab writers. Published in 1911 under the pen name Isis Copia, Ziadeh’s collection of poems, Fleurs De Rêve (Dream Flowers), was her literary debut.
