Rebecca Horn (1944– ) is a multidisciplinary artist whose
work encompasses sculpture, body art, paintings, films
and poetry. Born in Michelstadt, Germany, she went to
boarding school as a child. One of her memories of the
cold severity of her schooldays is reflected in The Moon, the
Child and the River of Anarchy (1992) which features school
desks attached in rows to the ceiling with a series of tubes
connecting them.
